Share an Assignment or Lesson with a Link or QR Code
Every Assignment carries a web link and an app link, and every Lesson inside it carries its own pair, so Administrators and Content Developers can put content one tap away in a work order, a study guide, or a QR code on a wall, with the link acting as a shortcut for people who already have access rather than as a way of granting it.
Why share a link at all?
Learners already reach their training by opening Simulator and finding it. A link or QR code removes the finding.
That matters where the training belongs to a moment rather than to a session at a desk:
- A QR code on a machine, a shelf, or a safety board, so the refresher is one scan away from the work.
- A link in a work order, a ticket, or an email, opening the exact Lesson for the job in hand.
- A study guide or intranet page where the Assignment sits beside everything else a team needs.
Note: A link is a shortcut, not a key. It does not grant access. The person opening it still has to be a Learner in that Assignment, and the content still has to be published and the Assignment running. Send a link to someone who is not in the Assignment and it will not open for them.
Where are the links?
In two places, depending on what you want to point at.

Note: Only Lesson rows carry links. Course and Module rows on that tab do not, because there is nothing for a Learner to open at that level.

Note: A Lesson's link is assignment-scoped. It opens that Lesson inside the Assignment it belongs to, which is what makes it work at all: a Lesson on its own is not something a Learner has access to.
How do you take a link or a QR code?

Note: Both icons copy. The link icon puts the URL on your clipboard and the QR code icon puts the QR code there, so the next thing you do in either case is paste. There is no Copy Link button to hunt for, and the URL itself is printed on the row so you can check you are taking the right one.
Note: Nothing on screen confirms the copy, so paste it somewhere before you move on. That is also the quickest way to be sure you took the web link rather than the app link.
How do Learners use what you send?

Best practice: Post QR codes where the work happens, not where the training happens. The value of a code on the machine is that somebody standing at the machine can settle a question in thirty seconds, which is the whole argument for putting content there at all.
FAQ
Does a link give someone access to the training?
No. It takes a Learner who already has access straight to the content. Someone not in the Assignment cannot open it.
Which link do I put in an email?
The Web Sim URL, unless you know everyone reading it will be on a phone with the app installed.
Can I link to a single Lesson?
Yes, from the URLs column on that Lesson's row on the Assignment's Lessons tab. The link opens the Lesson inside its Assignment.
Why does a Course or Module have no link?
Links exist for what a Learner can open. A Learner opens Lessons inside an Assignment, not Courses or Modules.
I copied a link before making changes. Is it still right?
Yes, as long as the Assignment still exists. The link points at the Assignment, not at a version of it. An archived Assignment is the exception: its links stop working.
