Modules break a Course into smaller, goal-focused pieces, and this article explains what they are, why they matter, how to access them, and the Modules menu options, for Administrators.
What are Modules?
Each Module represents a specific objective and contains the Lessons needed to meet that goal.
Purpose: Break training into focused, goal-oriented sections that guide Learners through one objective at a time, keeping the experience manageable and targeted.
Function: Group Lessons around specific learning objectives that support real job tasks and business goals, so Learners stay focused on what they need to perform their roles.
Why do Modules matter?
- Tied to real job tasks: Each Module teaches a skill or process that aligns with a job task, so Learners prepare to act, not just consume information.
- Drive measurable outcomes: Well-structured Modules lead to results—reduced training time, better task accuracy, higher productivity.
- Built for agility: Update or repurpose a Module without disrupting the whole Course, keeping content fresh as workflows change.
How do you access Modules?
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Choose the Learning Program where your Module is located. |
| 2 | Select the Course that contains your Module. |
| 3 | Click the Module you want to open. |
What’s in the Modules menu?
| Function | What happens |
|---|---|
| Edit | Edit thumbnails, titles, and descriptions. |
| Archive | Deactivates the Course, Module, or Lesson. This can’t be reversed from within the Skyllful UI. |
| Assign | Opens the assignment interface. |
| Duplicate | Creates an identical copy of the Course, Module, or Lesson. |
| Publish | Publishes the Course, Module, or Lesson so it can be assigned to Learners. |
| Unpublish | Removes it from the learning environment and re-enables editing. |
| Follow / Unfollow | Subscribes or unsubscribes the user to notifications, including email. |
