Skyllful IQ Overview
Skyllful IQ is the analytics component of the Skyllful Platform, and this article covers what the IQ dashboard measures, how it is scoped to one Assignment at a time, and the three lenses (Overview, Curriculum, and Learners) that organize it.
What is Skyllful IQ?
Skyllful IQ is the analytics component of the Skyllful Platform. It reports on how your frontline workforce is moving through training and how ready they are to do the work, and it presents that in one dashboard rather than in exports you have to assemble yourself.
IQ answers two standing questions for a training program: how far along are we, and who or what needs attention right now.
What is the IQ dashboard scoped to?
One Assignment at a time. IQ does not report across your whole Learning Program at once. You open the dashboard for a specific Assignment, and everything on the screen belongs to that Assignment.
The selector at the top left of the dashboard lists every Assignment you have IQ access to, across every Learning Program. Choosing a different one reloads the dashboard against that Assignment.
Note: This is why two Assignments built from the same content can show very different numbers. They have different Learners, different dates, and different progress.
What is on screen no matter which lens you are in?
Two bands sit above the lenses and stay put as you move between them.
Band |
What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Assignment status, top of the screen | The Assignment's start and end dates, the days remaining, and whether the Assignment is on schedule or off schedule. |
| View band, below it | The name of the view you are looking at, how many Learners it covers, % Readiness, % Complete, and + Add New Custom View. |
Readiness and Complete are the two roll-up numbers for the group in view. They are measured differently and they answer different questions, which is covered in Completion and Readiness Metrics.
The view starts as All Learners. A Custom View narrows it to a segment, and every number on every lens then reflects only that segment. See Custom Views.
What are the three IQ lenses?
IQ organizes its analytics into three lenses, shown as tabs. Each answers a different question, and you move between them to shift focus from the program as a whole down to one person.
Lens |
What it answers |
|---|---|
| Overview | How is this Assignment performing overall, and which Learners need attention? |
| Curriculum | Which Lessons are proving difficult, and what content needs a second look? |
| Learners | How is each individual Learner doing, and how do they compare? |
Switching lenses does not change the Assignment or the view. You are looking at the same population three ways.
For what each lens shows and how to work in it, see IQ Dashboard Lens Overview.
Who uses Skyllful IQ?
IQ is for the people responsible for a training program rather than the people taking it.
Role |
What they come to IQ for |
|---|---|
| Administrators | Program health, who is falling behind, and reaching Learners who have stalled. |
| Managers | How their own Learners are progressing and how ready their team is. |
| Analysts | Curriculum quality, comparing groups, and the detail behind the roll-up numbers. |
Learners do not use IQ. They complete their training in the Skyllful Simulator, and their activity is what IQ reports on.
Note: The Learners lens filters and reports by manager, which is why every Learner needs a manager assigned, and why that manager has to be a user with IQ access. See Add a User.
FAQ
Why does IQ show a different set of Learners than my Learning Program does?
Because IQ is scoped to an Assignment, not to the Learning Program. It shows the Learners enrolled in the Assignment you selected, which is usually a subset of everyone in the program.
Can I see two Assignments side by side?
No. The dashboard shows one Assignment at a time. Switch between them with the selector at the top left.
Why is Readiness lower than Complete?
They measure different things, so they move independently. Completion and Readiness Metrics explains what each one counts.
I only manage part of the group. Can I filter to just them?
Yes. Build a Custom View for that segment, and the whole dashboard follows it. See Custom Views.
Where do I go to send someone a message about their progress?
Both the Overview and the Learners lens let you select people and click Send Selected A Message.
