Develop a Lesson in Walkthrough Mode
Walkthrough mode guides Learners through a workflow with contextual prompts and highlights, and this article shows Content Developers and Instructional Designers how to structure it, adjust the mode and step settings, and preview it.
What are the key features of Walkthrough mode?
- Bridges the gap: connects passive learning in Video mode with hands-on Practice mode.
- Guides Learners: leads them through workflows with on-screen indicators.
- Allows interaction: lets Learners interact with highlighted elements.
How does Walkthrough mode relate to building a Lesson?
Walkthrough is the default development mode in Skyllful Studio. When you build a Lesson, you automatically build the Walkthrough. You customize some features using the Walkthrough development mode.
How do you create Walkthrough mode?

| 1 | In the Lesson Builder, select Walkthrough in the step filter (View Steps). |
| 2 | Adjust the Walkthrough Lesson Mode Settings as needed. |
| 3 | Adjust individual steps in the Walkthrough tab as needed. |
What settings can you adjust?
Walkthrough Lesson Mode Settings (for the whole mode):
- Time to completion for the mode, about 75 to 85 percent of the video duration.
- Skills Covered.
- Overrides for Name, Title Override, Description Override, and the Module image.
Walkthrough tab settings (for an individual step):
- Whether to include the step in the Lesson mode.
- Description.
- Dialog box position.
How do you preview Walkthrough mode?
Use the preview mode to check that Walkthrough mode is well designed.
- Check that the dialog boxes do not cover key elements.
- Check that the dialog boxes show the expected text.
- Check that the dialog boxes have the desired style applied.

What if Walkthrough mode does not work as expected?
Contact your Local Administrator first. If your Local Administrator cannot resolve the issue, submit a case through the Skyllful support portal.
