Customize Assignment Duration in Studio
New Hire assignments in Skyllful let administrators customize completion windows by job role, tag, or individual user, so different learners get the time they need.
How do you open Duration settings?
Go to Learning Program > the assignment you want to edit > Duration tab. Duration customization is available only for New Hire assignments. Campaign and Reference assignments use a single start and end date, and all learners get access during that window.
In a New Hire assignment, the start and end dates define when the assignment is live, not when individual learners get access. Access is set by duration.
What are the three ways to customize duration?
| Method | How it works |
|---|---|
| By Job Roles | Set a different window per role using the plus (+) icon. |
| By Tags | Define tailored windows by tag; use today's date for immediate activation. |
| By Individual Users | Highest priority; overrides Job Role and Tag settings for that person. |
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| Duration is grayed out | Only New Hire assignments support customization. |
| Learners tab is grayed out | Add a title, dates, and lessons, then click Create. |
| Can't save without a date | Use today's date as the default. |
