Video transcript:

Hey, everybody. Today, we're going to talk about hiring a mobile workforce in the digital era. First, let's talk about the problem. The challenge is that we have a very tight labor market, which is making it increasingly difficult to find qualified people. The next is we've got to get those people up and running as quickly as possible. Many of our clients' businesses are growing very rapidly, and we don't have a long time to onboard new personnel. The third part of that challenge is the up-and-coming workforce has different learning expectations. They're less interested in sitting through 30-, 60-, or 90-day training programs to get them up and running.

There's a handful of solutions that are available to us now, and I'm going to talk about a couple of them today. The first is video training. We need to be able to deliver video training content to the field in digital format in smaller chunks. Rather than think about training as a long curriculum that's delivered over a long period of time, in one session, rather break that training content down into chunks that is contextually relevant to the work that we're expecting those new trainees to be participating with.

The next part of that is making that archive of information available to them in a do-it-yourself fashion. The generation of workers that are coming up right now are actually very resourceful. If we make information available to them in a way that's easy for them to find and consume on their time and when it makes sense for them in their job, that content will be that much more effective and so will the worker that's consuming it.

The next area of leveraging digital is remote assistance. This is broken down into two areas. The first is creating collaboration tools that allow the new trainees in the field to have access to subject matter expertise somewhere else. For example, we recently built an application where we provided a messaging solution between workers in one place, in a remote place, with the subject matter experts elsewhere, and the system was smart enough to connect the right people to the right expertise at the right time. That was just traditional messaging, but we added some of the contextual awareness of the situation and the skills that were needed.

The second part of that is remote video assistance, so kind of the same concept as remote messaging. In this case, now, we are augmenting that experience through a real-time streaming video, which allows both the trainee and the subject matter expert to be seeing the same things at the same time and aid in that collaboration. It's another way to get new trainees up and running very quickly, leveraging the technology that's available today.

Let us know if you have any questions or if you have some other ways that you're trying to solve these challenges today. If you'd like to talk to us about any of the technologies we've talked about and how they can impact your business, we'd love to talk. Thanks again for watching. We'll see you again next week.
